One Pokemon who’s service goes above and beyond is Rotom. Rotom is an Electric-type Pokemon that helps power your bike. Where to Catch Rotom in Pokemon Sword and Shield?
Before getting started I need to level with you, Rotom is rare, likely really rare. Serebii.net clocks its spawn rate in at a low 2% and that’s not even taking into account the fact it only spawns during Rainy weather type in the Lake of Outrage Wild Area. So you’re going to need a bit of a luck on hand to catch this Pokemon. With that said here are some things you can do to increase your chances of catching Rotom:
- Turn Nintendo Switch clock ahead back to October 1st, 2019 to get Rain throughout Wild Area.
- Get Catching Charm.
- Buy a ton of Ultra Balls.
- Have a Pokemon which can deliver status effects like sleep/paralyze.
Once your team is ready to go and you have an ample supply of Poke Balls, make your way to the Lake of Outrage on a Rainy day. Here you will want to cross the lake and look in the tall grass by the circle of rocks for Rotom (appears in overworld). Hopefully you run into one and can catch it right away.
Rotom Galar Pokedex Entry
Rotom is a small Plasma Pokemon that is Ghost/Electric-type. This Pokemon is rather rare and popular. Like other Pokemon in Sword and Shield there is a lot of luck to catching this Pokemon. The Galar region Pokedex entry for Rotom is as follows:
One boy’s invention led to the development of many different machines that take advantage of Rotom’s unique capabilities.
That’s all you need to know to catch Rotom in Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield. As mentioned above this Pokemon is very, very rare, so it may take you a bit of time to track it down. Alternatively since I lucked out and found one right away I’ve left it at the breeder with Ditto and am open to trading with you if you wish. Leave a comment with what you can offer.
