Rekindling – Survival Guide

Basic Needs

First we need to take care of the basic needs of the survivor, which are food, water, fire, toilet and zones.

You also need resources for doing everything in the game so we need to gather resources.

Set your survivors to gather wood and stone, and order construction for a well, an outhouse and a bonfire.

Set up all the zones in the game. Set them near each other, with the exeption of waste zone. (I’m not sure if it is bad having waste near your survivors but why risk it?)

Pro tip: Set up a storage zone specific for wood and planks, and have the other storage zone have everything else (except wood and planks). Why? Because if your wood catches on fire, you will lose everything. You are welcome.

Hunt animals for easy food and set up farms for permanent sources of food. I recommend setting farms with different seed types (ex.: one potato farm, one carrot farm, one wheat farm etc.).

Pro tip: it is tiresome to micromanage everything so I advise you turn on the three buttons in the top left corner of the screen: the one to automatically pick up objects, the one to automatically tend to farms and the one to automatically repair objects. This way you can focus on more importants things and let the survivors do the chores.

Settlement Development

As soon as you have all basic needs filled up, you should start researching towards beer, because without beer your survivals will become unhappy and they will stop working and you may get stuck and have to start over.

To prevent this, build a lab. Research everything all the way to Hapiness (only research the things that are in the last row, don’t bother researching other things). As soon as you have done this, research Metal so you may produce metalplates (needed for building the brewer).

Remember that to produce beer you also need a barley farm.

As soon as it is possible you should build a brewer and start producing beer. This is your #1 priority besides basic needs and, of course, not dying.

After that, research medicine and build a mixer so you may produce medicine in case your survivors get ill (they will).

After you have beer and medicine, you survivors can stay alive, that is, if they don’t fight zims to the death. It’s time to make weapons.

Research everything in the first row to the right, until you have researched weapons.

Before you have researched everything in the first row, you will already be able to produce bats. Make at least one bat for each survivor for basic defense.
