Nintendo had a bit of a busy day today as they showed off the Nintendo Switch version of Super Mario 3D World and dropped our first look at a new colored Nintendo Switch. Dubbed the Mario Red & Blue Switch this version marks the first time players have the chance of getting a colored Nintendo Switch since it launched back in 2017. As the name of the console suggests the new color scheme features a mix of both red and blue colors. For a closer look at the console see the pictures below.
Mario Red & Blue Edition Nintendo Switch Details
The Mario Red & Blue Edition Nintendo Switch will become available for players to purchase on February 12th for $299.99. At release the console will be available only at ‘select’ retailers according to Nintendo. If that sounds like too much work you can head over to the Nintendo Store where it is listed but is currently not for sale.
Those who buy this Mario edition of the Nintendo Switch will receive a number of goodies with their purchase. Besides the Red Joy-Cons (with blue straps) and red console the bundle includes a Super Mario iconography carrying case and a screen protector. You also receive a Joy-Con Grip that brings a nice additional blue color to the console.
The release of this console coincides with the launch of Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury. This Nintendo Switch port features a new campaign called Bowser’s Fury. There are other tweaks that have been made to this edition of the game including better graphics and performance. You will find more information on the game on the Nintendo blog.
