IO Interactive allows you to carry over progression to Hitman 3 from Hitman 2. You can carry over your play profile, XP ranks, location mastery levels, location mastery unlocks, challenge unlocks, challenge unlocks, and more. However, there are some limitations, as you can only do this on the same platform you’ve been progressing on. The process is not exactly the easiest to figure out, so we put together this guide to show you how to carry over progression from Hitman 2 to Hitman 3.
How to Carry Over Progression to Hitman 3
The first step to carry over progress from Hitman 2 to Hitman 3 is to create an account on IOI’s website. Do this before beginning your Hitman 3 game because you will lose progress otherwise. Be sure to check your email to activate your account after registration.
Link your IOI account to the account where you have been playing Hitman 3, like Epic Games, Steam, PlayStation Network, or Xbox Live. Make sure to select the account where you have all your Hitman 2 data saved.
You will need to do this through a web browser rather than in-game. Next, you should see your Hitman 2 progress in the browser and choose to carry it over to Hitman 3. It’s important to note that you can only do this on the same platform where you’ve played Hitman 2.
What Progression Carries Over to Hitman 3?
IO Interactive claims the following data transfers over from Hitman 2 to Hitman 3: XP rank, location mastery levels, location mastery unlocks, challenge progress, challenge unlocks, Elusive Target suits, Elusive Target unlocks. You will need to own the Legacy DLC pack from Hitman 2 to access the maps in Hitman 3, as well. Missions currently in progress will also not carry over.
For Nintendo Switch players, this is the first time Hitman has been on the platform. For that reason, there is no previous data to transfer over to the new title.
