With the new season of Fortnite just around the corner, there’s been an official announcement of some new Team Rumble changes that will be included in the update.
For those not aware of this mode, Team Rumble consists of two teams of twenty competing against each other in a race to one-hundred eliminations. It’s a good way to warm up your aim before heading off into the normal Battle Royale mode.
Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 Team Rumble Changes
On Reddit, Epic Games developer EpicDustyDevo announced the following:
With the new season coming tomorrow, we have made a few changes to Team Rumble. Please post feedback here!
- All weapons blue or better
- Bandages removed
- Glider redeployment now a free ability (doesn’t take a slot)
- 150/150/150 mats granted at match start
- Skill-based matchmaking turned off
- Increased elimination goal to 125
To recap, all weapons in Team Rumble will now be either blue or better. Bandages have been completely removed now, so there will be a bit less loot overall with just these two changes.
Deploying your glider now does not take up a slot, which means you can carry an additional weapon or utility item. Everyone now spawns with 150 of each type of material, so you don’t need to waste as much time harvesting.
The most interesting change is that skill-based matchmaking will be turned off, which means people that literally just play Fortnite all day long will now have a fun time obliterating people in Team Rumble.
Finally, the elimination cap will be changed from 100 to 125 making games last a bit longer. The changes will officially go live tomorrow, February 20th, 2020, during the Season 2 patch.
