Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone’s Season 2 update drops this week, says Activision. It’s the first mid-season update since the release of Season 2 last month, and the team has some good things in store for us. There’s at least one new weapon, a couple of operators and maps, and some new features and modes for Black Ops Cold War. Here’s a recap of what’s in the Call of Duty Season 2 Reloaded update.

Call of Duty Season 2 Reloaded Maps

Treyarch already dropped some details about what to expect in the new update, including a new 6v6 map Miami Strike. It’s a more vibrant version of Miami, one of the community’s most hated comp maps, with a daylight setting, and it’s getting a 24/7 feature playlist.

On a similar note, Mansion is another new map getting thrown into Gunfight and FaceOff rotation. The debut Outbreak map, Golova, is also coming as a new location in Fireteam. Prop Hunt will also return with two new maps, Miami Strike and Satellite.

New Weapons in Call of Duty Season Two Reloaded

Two new weapons are coming in Season Two Reloaded. First, available this week is the R1 Shadowhunter Crossbow. Next week, the ZRG 20MM Sniper Rifle will be available for everyone to unlock and level. A new weapon tuning pass is also releasing this week.

Season Two Reloaded Zombies Changes

At the start of Season 2, we were met with Outbreak, which has brought many players back to Zombies mode or at least tempted to try it out for the first time. Outbreak mode is getting its newest locale, Sanatorium Night, which is a vast and creepy map to explore.

Outbreak also features a new secure objective, new intel to discover, and have a new dirt bike vehicle to ride. Zombies players can also apply any blueprint they own to their weapons, including weapons found or purchased from a buy station.

Dead Ops Arcade is also getting some changes, most notably the support for Battle Pass progression and player XP. Players will also see a new bonus map added into the mix.

PlayStation players can enjoy the new platform-exclusive Containment mode with a new blueprint challenge and new item and chalice drops.

Season Two Reloaded Operators

Terrell Wolf and Karla Rivas both join NATO this season, with the former coming with the launch of Season Two Reloaded and the latter in the mid-season update. The soldier skins are available in the store and are usable in both BOCW and Warzone.

Season Two Reloaded File Size Optimization

Warzone has gotten a lot of criticism for its massive file size, rightfully so. The latest update reduces the file size to free up a bit of space on your PC or console. Activision says, “Enhancements to the overall content management system have been made possible through data optimization and streamlining content packs needed for individual game modes.”

Expect a rather hefty update for Season Two Reloaded (file sizes down below), which includes all of these optimizations necessary to reduce the overall file size. We have a breakdown of approximately how much space you can expect to free up from the update:

  • PlayStation: 10GB Warzone / 30GB Warzone + MW
  • Xbox: 14GB Warzone / 33GB Warzone + MW
  • PC: 11GB Warzone / 30GB Warzone + MW

Read on below so you can brace yourself for how massive the Season Two Reloaded update is going to be.
